THE TRIP

Proverbs 3:6
“In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.”

JoAnne and I have an R.V. and we travel a lot. We have found that in order to enjoy the trip, there has to be a time of planning. The more we know about the route, the more fun we have.

I recently bought a computer program called “Map and Go” that is designed to make traveling easy. You just tell it where you are starting from and where you want to end up and it will print out a plan that not only includes maps, but will also tell you where to eat, sleep, and all of the attractions that you can see along the way.

But I’ve discovered that all of the maps I make, or all of the plans I make can’t substitute for the actual trip. Maps are not reality, they just lead to reality.

I think our spiritual journey can be like that. God has given us his road map to follow and has assured us that it will be the most rewarding, fulfilling, fun trip we will ever take.

He has even promised to travel along with us as our personal guide. But until we actually make the commitment to go with Him, we will never know the joy or experience all of the wonderful things that He has planned for us.
“Lord, I plan to have a great time today as I travel down life’s road with you as my constant companion and guide.”
